CHAPTER 16

“Hey, you’re back,” Bianca said when the bathroom door opened ten minutes later and the woman that she’d been discussing the pills with returned. Bianca smiled as the woman walked her way, but then her smile faded when she saw two men enter behind her a few seconds later.

“That’s her.” The woman pointed to Bianca.

“Oh, my new friend,” a third man coming up the rear said.

Bianca followed the voice and noticed that it was the gentleman who had been sitting next to her at the bar.

“I’ve been waiting for you to come back and join me,” he said.

“Rocco, you know her?” the woman asked, looking back and forth from him to Bianca.

Bianca decided to run with it. She went over and grabbed Rocco by his arm. “Yes, he knows me.” Bianca looked at the woman the entire time, hoping and praying Rocco would back up her claim so that she could stick her tongue out at her like a five-year-old.

Rocco peeled Bianca off of him like she was trash and pushed her away. Bianca lost her balance and landed on the floor.

She looked up at Rocco. “Hey, that’s no way to treat a lady.” Bianca sat up on her bottom and began wiping her dress, not that anything was on it. The floor was spotless.

By now, every person that had been in a bathroom stall had exited. Any women who had been in the lounge area were now standing in the sink area. They were all watching, waiting to see what would go down next.

But when Rocco yelled, “Out!” they all scattered like roaches. It was only Bianca, Rocco, the woman, and the other two men left in the bathroom. “You too.” Rocco looked at the woman in the zebra suit, still holding the folder. “I ain’t stutter.”

Her face begged for him to allow her to stay, but her lips knew better than to verbalize it. She hurried out. Before she was all the way out the door, Rocco called out to her. “Good work, Sasha. Go see Slim.”

Sasha’s eyes lit up. Now she couldn’t get out of there fast enough. Rocco watched her leave and then looked down at Bianca, who was still on the floor.

“Rocco, that was very rude,” Bianca said. “Not just you pushing me to the floor, but you never telling me your name. After all, I told you mine.”

“That’s because you hurried off before I could return the introduction,” Rocco replied. “Too busy coming in here, disrespecting my place of business.”

“Oh, this is your club? I’m sorry. I meant no harm.” She looked around. “This is a nice, respectable business. I should have known better than to think that type of thing went down here. You know what I mean.” Bianca cupped her hand around her mouth and whispered, “The use of drugs, narcotics, and stuff.” She then let out a taunting chuckle. On the inside she could have pissed her panties from fear, but on the outside she had on her game face.

Out of nowhere, Rocco kicked Bianca in the stomach, pushing her back to the ground.
